GAZA Calls It Quits
March 15, 2013Salt Lake City, Utah quartet GAZA has released the following statement:
"GAZA is no longer a band. A big thank you to anyone that has supported us. Some of us will continue to make music together."
GAZA's third album, "No Absolutes In Human Suffering", was released last August via Black Market Activities. The CD was recorded and mixed by CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou (TORCHE, TODAY IS THE DAY) at his Godcity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts and was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (SEPULTURA, SUFFOCATION, UNEARTH) in New Windsor, New York.
Of the new album, Pitchfork's Brandon Stosuy wrote: "For all the challenging complexity, this is music that sticks in your head... Amid the anger and bile, a discernible beauty." Likewise, NPR's Lars Gotrich has stated, "the Salt Lake City band's blast-beaten hooks lure as much as they devastate."
